There's still a mixed opinion as to the strength of the rainy season. From weak to extreme.




The rainy season gets in full swing around Wan Khao Phansa (Buddhist Lent Day).  This year it's July 20.  It's when the monks go into a temple retreat till the rainy season ends around mid October this year.  Heavy rains, if there are to be any will arrive from the east and northeast

SFC Home Game

Those Yasothon Rockets will spend three to four hours on a bus getting here, that's got to be in SFC favor.
Yasothon is 9th in the league, SFC is 10th

Ten minutes into the game we suspected Kalasin was going to win this one

Right from the start Kalasin had a number of near misses.  They happened with such a frequency that the odds of scoring were obvious.
Ten minutes into the game 'A'  jokingly said: "we go home now."

Sakon FC wasn't slouches, the game was fast paced and riveting

160530 Papaya Smoothie

Have eight trees in my yard at various growth. 
Four are producing fruit at such a rate that I've been offering them to neighbors almost daily
Most Thais prefer papaya green (unripened) to use in a salad 'papaya pok pok.'

Since I have stomach acid problems I put the fruit in a blender and added some soda water.  Not necessary, but I add a bit of honey to improve the health benefits.

Now I am using water bottles to stock up on the smoothies.  Add shot or two of vodka to each bottle as a preservative and to avoid fermentation in the refrigerator.

Caution even though the fruit has many health benefits the fruit is not advised for people with latex allergies

Maintenance funds not a priority?

Rainy Season caution

We've had rain for about 10 days, it's becoming more common as we are heading into the rainy season.
Frogs are appearing on the scene and their orchestra can be heard nightly. With the frogs come their predator, snakes.

Snakes don't like surprises.  Look where you walk.  Keep your distance.
I have frequently come across snakes and simply made some loud noises and they scurry away.
Don't expect that from all snakes, especially bigger ones.

What works best for me is a strong spray bottle filled with a mixture of chlorine and water.  

Checking your toilet plumbing for holes is highly recommended. If there's rats, snakes will follow
