Always interested where blog readers are coming from, or which VPN they may be using.  The chart below shows the top ten blog visitors for a week  period.  Its an indication of possible visitors to the area. Of course there's also those readers on vacation (or work) from Sakon Nakhon

Weather alert: The worst is yet to come

The majority of weather services (I check 12 weather services daily) are indicating increased heavy rain for Tuesday.  This will most likely begin this evening.
Continuous rain without breaks should raise the flood warnings.  If there is no break to give canals and river time to recede, then the obvious happens.
Galoshes are recommended especially if you have open cuts on your feet.  Washing your feet when stepping into puddles is recommended. Floods tend to wash away bacteria from household sumps.
As of 6 am this morning, there has been no weather warning posted by the Thai Meteorology Department

Keith Pearson hospitalized

Keith was hospitalized after some complaints of extreme physical pain. Keith had  gallbladder surgery late Saturday night and is now recovering in the Mens surgery 2 Ward, on the 6th floor of the new building at the 'government hospital.'

It wasn't the outcome I'd hoped for

There was an obvious change in the Sakon FC starting lineup. Most obvious: one major player was sitting in the audience.  There were a couple other obvious lineup changes.
First half action was a bit of a yawner at times.  Oh sure there were a couple exciting moments, but nothing that left the crowd roaring.

Action picked up in the second half with a few close calls.
The Sakon Goalie was replaced due to an injury.
The mistake happened when the replacement goalie let himself get drawn too far from his goal and not enough team members rushed to defend the goal.  It was one of those goals that you knew it was about to happen, long before it happened.

The game next Sunday may well turn into a hometown thriller.
Both teams are tied for 7th place in the league with identical wins, draws, losses, and points.  Sakon FC held Huai Thalaeng to a draw in an away game.  This time it's home field advantage.
Let's hope they win this game, cause the following game, Sunday, May 28, at Sisaket is ...
Sisaket has not lost a game so far this season.

Chances are
football will be a watersport today

Weather arriving from the north.  Occasional breaks from the rain

Good time to make sure all your batteries are fully charged and you have some movies on your laptop. Expect occasional power outages and internet disruptions.  It's the rainy season.

I don't have to make up stories, there's 100,000 pictures with missing stories

The Year was 1972

The place: Qui Nhơn, Vietnam

In charge of motor pool supply at a time when US troops were withdrawn. With little to do, I became a driver.

Puppy was abandoned in the middle of the street.  After it opened it's eyes it never left my side.  Had to leave it behind with some 'natives.'

Tomorrow, Saturday at 4pm Sakon Nakhon FC hosts Surin City
Well!  Blow me away. (extremely impressed)
That stadium on airport road, I've been naming
the 'Provincial Stadium'
is officially known as Sakon Nakhon SAT Stadium.
Sakon Nakhon Sport Authority of Thailand Stadium.
Provincial Stadium is merely the subtitle.
To this date you are still able to bring your own, or buy beer on the premises. It's not so at many other stadiums in Thailand.  The main reason being, some rowdy fans throw bottles and cans at players, and mostly at referees when the game is not going favorably.
Some stadiums have tackled the problem by only allowing paper cups in the stadium.
Most recently I was at two Buriram stadiums.  At the Big one: no drinks in the seating area, they had a drink area and a smoking area.  I thought the seats in that stadium where a bit cramped.
At the lesser known Buriram B stadium, no drinks in the seating area.  I grabbed my beer and watched most of the game outside the open fenced area. I did sit in the opposite seating area which was in desperate need of major repair. Sat there, took some pictures, and drank my beer undisturbed.
