Droughts and floods are a fact of life in Thailand, little is being done to ease the problems

It's that time of the year when droughts are discussed and forecast.  Some sources seem to think it will be especially severe this year, while others are saying we have enough water to last till the rainy season.

I'm Guessing  the lake water level is down by about three feet since August 15, 2018 👇 and fairly normal compared to past years.

Sakon FC comes home with a draw, meanwhile at Sakon City we have a fourth win in a row

Watched some of the game on my Macbook while watching two live games.  

Don't know if it was the small screen, twenty minutes into the game with a 1-1 score I turned my 'book' off  because the live action seemed more interesting.

Sakon FC comes home with a draw

Sakon FC players are expecting a win this evening in Khon Kaen

Air quality unhealthy this morning. 

As I have been advised there are no monitors in the immediate vicinity, the closest one being in Khon Kaen. Local measurements are more likely just guess work.

Stepping out this morning I did not need to guess I could smell the smoke in the air.

Hopefully there will be some rain in the next 48 hours which should temporarily clean the air.

Rain is in the forecast for tonight and Monday.



U15 Football game started off great with a first goal by Sakon FC. It only took a minute for Loei to even the score.

Sakon FC travels to Khon Kaen today for a 6pm game.  With the game time changed from 4 pm, there will most likely be a live broadcast.  Finding it in time will be the challenge. Team members are suggesting that this will be a Sakon Nakhon win.

I am staying home to support the team I am sponsoring in the Sakon City games.

Third game third win Sakon City Games

I was dripping wet Friday evening at the football field  
The humidity was noticeably high.  
I wasn't the only one expecting a rainstorm any moment. Someone was covering up the speakers, as if to protect from rain.  

It never did rain, instead a swarm of bugs similar to flying termites did kamikaze attacks on everyone under the stadium lights for nearly half an hour. The bugs dissapeared as suddenly as when they arrived.

A third game and a third win required a celebration at my house. That party ended at 9 pm. Celebrants most likely had other celebrations to attend on a Friday night.

This tournament ends March 5.

We played two games, we won two games. Can only hope game three is another win

Haven't quite made up my mind about a trip to Khon Kaen. Wonder if it's worth the expense. Probably will attend less away games compared to previous years unless there's some serious wins ahead.

Power Outages are a fact of life

Two power outages in recent days. 

One lasted a few hours. Even though it was quite hot I was able to keep comfortable with a portable usb fan.  I have an extra battery just in case.

During extreme hot days I take the fan with me to a football game

A mobile wifi and my laptop had plenty of power so I could continue watching television.

Some power outages occur at night.
It's a good idea to remember where you stored your flashlight.

When plugged in the charging indicator acts as a perfect nightlight

Experienced the longest power outage a few years back during the floods, slightly over 24 hours.

To date I have not seen the need to purchase a generator, on average outages last two to six hours.

I had high hopes which were boosted with a first goal by Sakon Nakhon U19

All hopes were shattered after two successive Roi Et goals at 4:30 and 4:32.  The Sakon goalkeeper was kept quite busy. I'd say the defensive team needs practice
