I did it successfully. Brown sugar works best, as it contains molasses. Regular bread yeast works fine. Think wine yeast works better. Don't overfill the liquid, allow for gas expansion

Birthday greetings X4
Started early morning with a visit of one of the locals stopping by to collect a birthday present.
Early afternoon had a pleasant visit with mister Bob and wished his wife Kat a happy birthday.
In the evening I was the first to arrive for Dan's birthday party with free food and drink. That gathering turned out to be very pleasant. I stayed for a few hours, then rushed off to a final birthday bash in my own neighborhood.
Of course we also played quiz night. the question was: "What grumpy old man also celebrated his birthday that day." It took a few additional hints till Dan remembered "TOM."

Cooler weather made me forget to drink more water
Dumped the majority of my medication stockpile and reduced it to less than a dozen.
Recently discovered that most of my ailments were caused due to dehydration and can be treated without medication, simply by drinking more water.
On average, persons over 65 tend to have less water retention. It's quite obvious with more frequent visits to the toilet. Quite often I wake up early in the morning with a need for a toilet visit.
A recent incident made me realize that hospitalization last year for intestine pains, which included a number of examinations and medications, could have been avoided and was caused by dehydration.
Most recently muscles temporarily tensed up causing extreme pain. Also had equilibrium difficulties with dizzy spells nearly passing out. After a few days of intense water drinking and single daily doses of electrolyte, these symptoms have dissapeared. Medications for these symptoms are 'on hold.'
Not surprised that my migraines also dissipate with an electrolyte drink.
Elderly who have too much water retention should consult a doctor as edema can lead to serious medical conditions.

With the slightest wind there's a lot of dust in the air during the dry season. I witness that very obviously on my white tiled pool, which requires twice weekly cleaning to turn grout white.
Drive along any of the local highway construction sites and you get a snout full of dust, especially if you're on a motorcycle.
Then of course there's yard waste burning
Occasionally these things get out of control

Win continues to elude U-19 Sakon FC
U19 Sakon FC Hosted Nong Bua Lamphu SA (Sport Association). Lineup changes from a previous game were obvious. Action was fast paced and Nong Nua Lamphu had the upper hand during the first half. They kept the Sakon FC goal keeper very busy. During the second half Sakon FC offense seemed to have gotten into high gear, unfortunately not fast enough to improve the final score 4-3 loss.

U15 Sakon FC 1 - - Nong Kai 0
One thing which has become somewhat obvious to me, younger players seem more aggressive and more prone to injuries than their seasoned semi- and professional counterparts.
It also makes for a fast paced game.
This was the first win of the season for the team. Now what they've had the taste of a win, there could be MORE.

Trip around the lake
The blue line is not totally accurate, as it does not follow any existing roads in some locations.
Did have to do a bit of backtracking because roads were not always properly marked at intersections. After a few miles down the road I checked my mobile map to see if I was on the right track

Most of the roads were in good condition. A few places were under construction, a few minor potholes here and there.

Added a page ⚽ Sakon FC :: U15 and U19 2018-2019
Added a slideshow to the sidebar entitled Recent Albums. Each page provides a link to an album. It's a work in progress and hope to add a few pages daily. I am hoping to complete last year within 2 months and post all new albums as they are published
Also have to do some work on replacing flash images. Chrome already blocks them. more will follow.

Keeping track of the games takes a bit of searching on a daily basis.This weekend the U15 have a home game on Saturday, the U19 team is on the road in Roi Et.
There's no seasonal schedule, games are generally made public by midweek for games on the following weekend.

After loosing the first game 1-4 to India, and the firing of Coach Milovan Rajevac, and the replacement by Sirisak Yodyardthai, I'm not holding great hopes for this game

Temple fair starts this weekend
Cruised by the waterfront. Surprised to see longboats on shore. It's not racing season.
Jicama roots for sale. They are healthy. I often add them to a stew. It's also used in salads.
Checked out the water level. It will be interesting what the water level will look like in April. The area is growing and so is water consumption.
In and around the temple preparations are under way for the fair which begins this weekend
