Sakon FC has announced three days of new player tryouts.

At last week's game, the replacement bench looked quite sparse

I'd suggest, if possible, replace the foreigner who was lost due to corruption (not related to football). Otherwise I would seriously look at former team players who have continued making  a living at football

190603 General consensus: Good game, questionable refereeing

Watched as the Surin Sugar coach complained a few times about the poor refereeing. He was all smiles when he faced my camera.

There were a number of rumblings in the crowd due to what seemed to be sloppy refereeing. 

One complaint I heard more than once was that the south linesman repeatedly was not where he should have been. 
Another observation was that a few Sugar players layed down feigning an injury.

The video is not much help as they occasionally zoom closer than half the field. The facebook resolution is poor. I prefer Youtube for resolution

I doubt I could make it today: 491 steps

I climbed the mountain stairs of the mountain to reach That Phu Phek (พระธาตุภูเพ็ก), about 32 kilometers of Sakon Nakhon city. Pictured first time in October 2002. Went to the top four times.  I doubt I could make it today at age 74

High humidity rainy season means little or no dust

Until last week I had to clean my pool almost daily to remove dust which had settled on the pool floor. 
Once a week is fine now, less visitors now that school has started.

Surin Sugar KCM FC is in it's second year of existence.

In March 2018 the Sugars were handed a 0-2 Loss by visiting Sakon FC.

During a visit to Sakon City in July 2018 the Sugars went home with a 2-2 draw. 

At this time Sugars are fourth in the league, Sakon Nakhon is eleventh of thirteen.

The football team departed early Saturday   morning for Sunday's game in Chaiyaphum.  A   friday facebook post showed the bus at an   inspection station getting checked out for the   long journey	Replaced the table/bench/bed which wore out   after 17  years.  It serves mainly as a bench for   kids using the   pool, so it gets to see plenty   action  Replacing the front porch roofing with insulated   roofing   as seen to the right in the picture   below. I've decided to   spend the money after   determining that I won't have to  spend huge        amounts of money on insurance and may   decide to stay

Stopped by at Apples restaurant around 6 pm for a quick beer and a visit with friends.  On the way home I noticed the lights on at the Metro stadium. I stopped off at home, grabbed a couple beers, camera and earphones and went to watch some football.

I had barely settled in to watch the game when I was offered a plate with shish kabob.  I was also offered beer, but motioned that I had brought my own.

Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere.  By the cars in the parking lot and most of the clothes worn it was obvious  this was an after hours policemen's social event of football and BBQ

190521 Thai sticks were world renown

Amnesty program ended today to report your possession of marijuana. Not quite sure if they allowed persons reporting the possession to keep it , doubt that.

Been staying clean in that respect and should be able to pass a piss test if one was unexpectedly offered. 

As for legalization it's still years away.  Think government and big corporations will milk the medical purposes as long as they can.

Prefer a joint over alcohol any time. I'm a lightweight when it comes to that stuff a couple of tokes and I'm good for half a day.

It's illegal in Thailand, became so in 1979, pretty sure it was due to pressure from the US Government. Before that Thais were using it in their soups.  Back in the 60's up to the 70's Thai sticks were world renown.

'One of the reasons' I'm contemplating of uprooting very soon is at my age I want to enjoy a toke now and then without having to worry about an offer for accomodations at the local government hospitality facility. One to five year accomodations for minor possession and a fine.

Crazy thing is it's relatively easy and inexpensive to come by, even if you know a few government types. 

There's a couple local expats who are dreaming of becoming local legal distributors. Keep dreaming.

Yesterday's Sakon FC win was somewhat hoped for.  Both teams were very equally matched and it was a matter of who would tire first.
The goal can be seen at 2:04:30, minutes before the end of the game.
Surprisingly at halftime my ticket was drawn as the first winner. As I was photographing, Tony accepted the shirt for me (1:04:48)
