Barring any intervention from the gods...
The twentieth loss in 30 games played. It was the team's last hope for a win or a draw for the rest of the season. Barring any intervention from the gods, the next four games will be losses. People of my generation may have witnessed such scenes in their childhood.
Sure brings back my pre-teen memories.
For many months I used to accompany my uncle to such ruins every Saturday. My uncle would chip away cement from red brick walls, clean the red bricks, while I stacked them. We did this until he had enough red bricks to build a two storey house
Translate this?
Saw this on the back of a t-shirt. Somewhat puzzled at what is being said. "No crawling" comes to mind. I suspect it's probably something completely different?

Problem solved, thanks to expat advise
Been picking off ticks from my dog for months, No sprays or powders seem to delete the bugs entirely.
Then frontline plus, available at the Vet and pet shop across the street from the MJ hotel, was recommended to me.
80 baht for a one month application
One morning later, floors around the house are littered with dead bugs. Floors were mopped.
What a relief it is. Some of those sprays I had been using were quite toxic. Made me choke, so I knew I had to find a different cure

150829 There seems to be an increase in police checkpoints
Thursday two checkpoints. First time I was asked if I had my drivers license. As I reached for my wallet I was told to go.
Second time, as I raised my helmet visor, I was told to go.
Friday evening again as soon as I raised my isor I was told to go.
Seems like there are a lot more road checks these days compared to years ago. Then again it could be because it's at the end of the month and last chance to raise funds for the month.
In twelve years I've probably only been stopped a dozen times, five times this year. My drivers license was checked twice. More often I am asked "where you come from, or where are you going."
The funniest roadstop I witnessed. A guy with girlfriend as passenger on a motorcycle slowed down as if to stop. When he reached the cop he sped away. A dozen cops standing around just laughed.
Then there was the time when a lone cop on the highway flagged people to stop. No one stopped

What is for sure, there is a strong increase of security and everyone seems to be a bit more on the alert. Mob tourism will probably resume shortly. Tourism competition from neighboring countries is increasing

The pool table will be open and the beer is ice cold. Come to Tharae and join on the fun. Last weeks pork tenderloins was an outstanding success and perhaps the best group of people that I have seen together since I have been in Thailand. Very mellow and happy group. |
